SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) - A federal grand jury has indicted 10 people in connection with a money counterfeiting ring.

Local news outlets report the activity was carried out across the Spartanburg area earlier this year.

Court documents show all 10 people have been indicted on multiple charges. Thomas Griffin with the U.S. Secret Service in Greenville says all of the suspects are from the Spartanburg area.

A federal indictment says some suspects made the fake money while others distributed it and used it to buy goods that were then sold to obtain authentic currency. Fake $20, $50 and $100 bills were manufactured.

Court documents say the suspects used the counterfeit money at several retailers.

Authorities are looking for one suspect who remains at large.
