WILLISTON, Fla. (AP) - A former Williston firefighter has been arrested on burglary and credit card fraud charges.

The Gainesville Sun (https://bit.ly/1iCl24I ) reports police accuse 33-year-old Terry Kerr Jr. of illegally obtaining fuel by using the personal information of a current firefighter.

Williston Fire Chief Lamar Stegall called police after discovering abnormalities in the fire department’s fuel purchases during his monthly audit.

An investigation determined Kerr was behind the thefts. Police say Kerr was familiar with the department’s credit card system and the locations of the fuel stations used by the department. He is accused of using another firefighter’s information to buy fuel.

Police say Kerr confessed to the theft. He was taken to Levy County Jail with bail set at $110,000.

The investigation is ongoing. It isn’t clear if Kerr has an attorney.
