FORT DODGE, Iowa (AP) - The Iowa attorney general’s office says the agency that oversees the regional landfill south of Fort Dodge will pay a $135,000 as part of its settlement with the state for environmental violations.

The consent decree filed Tuesday in Webster County District Court also says the North Central Iowa Regional Solid Waste Agency will complete environmental upgrades and open a household hazardous materials collection center. The consent decree resolves a lawsuit that also was filed on Tuesday.

The state says the settlement covers solid waste and water pollution control violations that date back to at least 2007.
