COLFAX, La. (AP) - The Louisiana Pecan Festival begins Friday with a blessing of the crops and annual cooking contest.

The Colfax event, recently selected as one of best fall festivals, is held on the first weekend in November each year.

The threat of wet weather for the third weekend in a row doesn’t have organizers too worried, either.

If there are severe storms, Betsy Dunaway with the Louisiana Pecan Festival, tells The Town Talk (https://townta.lk/1RuXAm3) the Grand Parade on Saturday is the only activity that would be cancelled.

The festival begins on 7:30 a.m. Friday and ends Sunday at 5 p.m.
