MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. (AP) - A man and a 12-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of trying to burglarize a Southern California home.

Manhattan Beach police said officers surrounded the home on Monday after a resident reported seeing a buy trying to open a door near the kitchen.

When officers confronted them, one of the suspects tried to flee by jumping a gate but he, and the other suspect, were taken into custody.

The man was identified as 26-year-old Noe Barocio of Los Angeles. The boy’s name was not released because of his age.

City News Service reports detectives are looking into whether the pair was involved in an attempted break-in the same day in Manhattan Beach.
