CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - An 83-year-old man has died after he was lost in the snow near Carson City overnight.

Carson City Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Vice Commander Bill Fergus says the man was found Tuesday by rescuers in the Brunswick Canyon in an area where there was 3 to 4 inches of snow on the ground. Search and Rescue had been called Monday.

The man was found wearing casual clothes not suited for cold and snow and was suffering from hypothermia. He was taken to a Reno hospital, where he later died.

Rescuers found six dogs with the man. The dogs were fine.

The man’s name has not been released.
