CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) - Police arrested a man accused of chasing people through a Corvallis park while dragging an ax and threatening them.

Two Oregon State University students told police that the man followed them and said, “I’m the ax man. I’m gonna get you.”

The Corvallis Gazette-Times reports (https://bit.ly/1Q5QxCT ) that the students ran away and called police, who arrested 27-year-old Zachary Williams.

Court records show prosecutors accuse Williams of harassing five people. He is charged with menacing, unlawful use of a weapon against another, disorder conduct and a probation violation. He’s also charged with theft because he allegedly stole the ax from a nearby yard.

Williams’ court-appointed attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
