WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) - Police say a man wanted on a warrant was shot after veering his van toward a Waterloo officer while trying to flee.

Cedar Rapids station KCRG-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1iCDlH7 ) that officers spotted 24-year-old Brandon Seeley driving in downtown Waterloo around 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say an officer shot at Seeley after he veered toward an officer who had left his squad car. Seeley drove away with officers in pursuit. He soon left his van and ran into a parking garage, where he was arrested. He was taken to Allen Hospital.

An Iowa Department of Public Safety news release says Seeley was wanted on a warrant alleging a probation violation for a marijuana conviction. Department spokesman Alex Murphy declined to comment Wednesday on what new charges Seeley could face after Tuesday’s incident.
