UMATILLA, Ore. (AP) - A Umatilla man who beat another man to death three years ago has been sentenced to more time in prison after violating the conditions of his early release.

The East Oregonian reports (https://goo.gl/fkpWpy ) that 21-year-old Teodoro Parra Mendoza pleaded guilty Tuesday to felon in possession of a firearm. He has been ordered to serve out the remainder of his prison term for the original crime, plus 18 months.

Mendoza pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide in 2012 after beating a man to death with a baseball bat. Mendoza, who was 17 at the time, was sentenced to six years in youth prison.

A judge agreed to release Mendoza in June for good behavior.

Police then arrested him in Sept. 29 after finding him in possession of a gun.
