INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Authorities are investigating after a man was shot and killed inside a vehicle that crashed into an apartment building in Indianapolis.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says officers were responding to a report of shots fired on the city’s east side just after 10 p.m. Tuesday when they received additional calls indicting a vehicle had crashed into the Teal Run apartment buildings.

Police say officers found an unresponsive man in his pickup truck, which had crashed through the wall of an unoccupied unit, and learned he suffered at least one gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The department says detectives had not released any suspect description as of early Wednesday morning.

The Indianapolis Star reports that the man is the city’s 120th homicide victim this year.
