NEW YORK (AP) - Authorities say an off-duty EMS worker has been stabbed in Brooklyn.

The incident happened just after 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say the 34-year-old man was walking down the street when he was suddenly slashed in the shoulder by a masked man.

The emergency medical technician was taken to a hospital with injuries that aren’t life-threatening.

Police are looking for the suspect, who was apparently wearing a Halloween mask.

The victim is a member of Hatzolah EMS, which serves neighborhoods throughout the city and staffed by Orthodox Jewish EMS workers.
