WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - A 19-year-old man who police say tried to run down a police officer with his car in a Worcester parking lot has pleaded not guilty to assault charges.

Police say an officer observed Connor Davis yelling at Burger King employees in the drive-thru and approached his vehicle on Tuesday. Witnesses say the Worcester man then drove the car in reverse toward the officer several times and allegedly hit his cruiser.

Police say Davis wasn’t hurt but the officer suffered minor injuries to his left leg and foot.

Davis was arraigned Tuesday on charges of battery with a dangerous weapon and armed assault with intent to murder.
