RENFREW, Pa. (AP) - A man has been flown to a hospital with smoke inhalation and a woman had to be restrained and taken away in an ambulance after a house fire in western Pennsylvania.

Authorities didn’t immediately identify either person removed from the scene of the fire in Connoquenessing (kaw-noh-kwen-NESS’-ing) Township, Butler County. That’s about 30 miles north of Pittsburgh.

The fire was reported shortly before 4 a.m.

The cause of the fire wasn’t immediately clear.

State police say the woman had to be handcuffed by troopers before she was put in an ambulance. Police say she also tried to kick paramedics and police and needed to be strapped to a gurney inside the vehicle.
