WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - Police in Worcester say they’re investigating a body found in a burning car.

In a statement posted to Facebook, the department says the body was discovered after officials responded to a report of a car fire in the area of Wildwood Avenue at around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The burning vehicle was located in the vicinity of Swan Avenue. Police say that when firefighter extinguished the fire, they discovered a body inside the vehicle.

Detectives and crime scene investigators were called to the scene and the incident remains under investigation, police said. A department spokesperson did not immediately respond to requests for further comment.

Late Tuesday night, a woman’s body was found bound in a burning car in Bridgewater, Mass. which is over 60 miles away from Worcester.
