MILWAUKEE (AP) - A dog that severely injured an infant in Milwaukee has been euthanized.

The Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission says the pit bull was put down earlier this week after its owner gave authorization. The 27-year-old woman is facing criminal charges for leaving the 3-month-old boy alone with his 8-year-old brother when the incident occurred.

The infant was critically injured in the attack Oct. 27 on Milwaukee’s south side. The Journal Sentinel (https://bit.ly/20wwnpc ) reports a criminal complaint says the dog had previously bitten the older boy in the face and his uncle’s land. Stitches were required in both cases.
