FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - A former Washington County constable is suing 16 law enforcement officers, judges and prosecutors over his arrest involving a traffic stop and the possession of blue emergency lights.

The Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (https://bit.ly/1Q7dO7m ) reports Tom Clowers claims in a federal lawsuit that he was arrested on Jan. 25, 2013, after someone told the Benton County Sheriff ‘s Office that Clowers pulled him over using the lights attached to his vehicle.

Court documents say the man was concerned Clowers wasn’t a law enforcement officer. The man said Clowers left the scene when he asked Clowers for identification.

Clowers pleaded guilty after his arrest. In a plea bargain, Clowers said that he did have the lights attached to his vehicle, but he denied pulling anyone over.

Clowers, who is representing himself in the lawsuit, says the arrest was unwarranted and defamed him.
