NEW ALBANY, Miss. (AP) - A traffic stop in Union County led to the seizure of heroin, marijuana, prescription drugs, mushrooms, cash, a dozen firearms, computers, TVs and DVDs.

The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1Qfvo8t) it also may have provided a break in a series of burglaries over a multi-county area.

Sheriff Jimmy Edwards said a deputy made a routine traffic stop in the Blue Springs area about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

In the vehicle were 26-year-old Demetrius Edward Turner and 46-year-old Tressa Mausieur Spears.

The two were charged with possession of heroin with intent to sell or distribute, possession of stolen property, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and possession of a Schedule II drug.

Online jail records do not list an attorney for Turner or Spears.
