DOVER, Del. (AP) - A man who was shot by Dover police has been indicted on felony weapons charges.

A grand jury indicted 21-year-old Terrance Fletcher Monday on one count of possession of a firearm by person prohibited and another count of carrying a concealed deadly weapon.

Authorities say Fletcher was shot by police in August during a foot chase in downtown Dover. Police say they were tipped that a person was in possession of a handgun in the area.

Officials say Fletcher admitted to having a loaded .38-caliber revolver, which was the type of gun police recovered at the scene.

The indictment indicates that at the time of the shooting, Fletcher was wanted in West Virginia after failing to appear for a court proceeding in connection to a felony case.
