PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say they’ve identified an investigative lead in a hit-and-run accident in Phoenix last month that killed a pedestrian.

Phoenix police say the registered owner of the vehicle involved in the Oct. 20 crash has been identified as 23-year-old Rudy Loyoza Jr.

Police say they have not yet been able to locate Loyoza so he can be questioned about the accident.

They say the driver of a vehicle lost control after accelerating north on 19th Avenue at speeds over 100 mph.

Police say the vehicle crossed the center line and fatally struck 54-year-old Darryl Wayne Hampton on a sidewalk.

The driver of the car reportedly abandoned the wrecked vehicle and fled the scene on foot.
