RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Police in Raleigh have arrested a man charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a Selma man last month.

Multiple media outlets report that police in Selma filed a murder charge against 27-year-old Robert Lewis Jackson after 29-year-old Marquel Cardell Williams died in a Raleigh hospital on Oct. 18.

Jackson originally had been charged with attempted murder after the Oct. 12 shooting.

Jackson also is charged with possession of a gun by a felon. It was not clear if he has an attorney yet.

Raleigh police arrested Jackson without incident at an apartment complex about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.
