HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a school administrator in New Jersey set fire to his own garage.

David Browne remains hospitalized with injuries he sustained in the Oct. 13 blaze at his home in Wyckoff.

Bergen County prosecutors say the 55-year—old Browne used an accelerant to torch the structure, which was detached from the home.

Browne was the Randolph school superintendent until he resigned on Oct. 27. He had been on a 30-day medical leave, which began on Sept. 8.

Browne became superintendent in July 2011 and earned $167,500 a year.

It’s not known if he has a lawyer who can discuss the charge.
