SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - A Scottsdale man who owns a Florida-based moving company has pleaded guilty to defrauding more than 50 people in a bait-and-switch scheme.

The Internal Revenue Service in Phoenix says 34-year-old Louis Massaro pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count each of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, money laundering and failure to return household goods.

Federal prosecutors say Massaro would accept moving jobs but pass them on to other carriers without telling clients.

They say he also would spontaneously raise prices and not deliver items until payments were made.

He is suspected of defrauding victims of more than $112,000 between August 2010 and October 2012.

Massaro entered his plea in federal court in Boston, where one of the interstate carriers is based.

He is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 9.
