TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - A suspect in a stolen truck crashed head-on into a Pierce County sheriff’s patrol vehicle before fleeing the scene.

The News Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1MeUkb6 ) that deputies tried to stop the stolen Ford truck on Wednesday morning.

Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer says the driver took off at speeds reaching 90 mph.

Troyer says the truck reversed direction and headed straight at the pursuing patrol vehicle, hitting it head on.

One deputy suffered a minor leg injury and the other was not hurt.

The truck kept going and managed to avoid maneuvers to stop it. The driver got away and the truck was later found in King County with no one inside.
