CRANSTON, R.I. (AP) - A 46-year-old high school history teacher has been accused of inappropriately touching two employees at his Cranston pizza shop.

Lee Mogavero, a teacher at St. Mary Bay View Academy in East Providence, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault.

Police say two female workers, including a 19-year-old former Bay View student and a 17-year-old current student who had Mogavero as a teacher a couple years ago, say he touched them and sexually harassed them over the past few months at PieZoni’s.

Mogavero, of Barrington, has been released on bail. He tells WJAR-TV he has no comment.

Bay View said in a statement that its community is “deeply troubled” by the events and that the teacher has been placed on leave.
