NAMPA, Idaho (AP) - A 12th person has filed a tort claim against the Idaho Department Juvenile Corrections claiming sexual abuse during his time at a facility in Nampa.

John Doe XII’s tort claim was filed Oct. 29 claiming he needs psychiatric care because of the center’s staff’s actions, The Idaho Press-Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1Otenbp). The claim is seeking $1.2 million in damages.

The new claim alleges that a former employee of the Nampa facility performed oral sex on the victim in 2010. The victim says he was asked by the employee to come to the medical exam room where she assaulted him. John Doe says he asked her to stop, but she told him no one would believe him if he reported her because he was a juvenile with a record.

The employee has been named in other tort claims filed by former inmates as one of at least three female staff members accused of having inappropriate relationships with male inmates.

The employee was arrested in May after being extradited to Idaho from California.

The department has 90 days to respond to the claim, after which the plaintiff can file a lawsuit.

Eleven John Does and one Jane Doe have filed tort claims against the department alleging abuse. Six of those claims have moved forward to file lawsuits.
