RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Authorities in Lincoln County say two inmates who jumped from a transport van in Raleigh have been recaptured after they were found hiding in a storage shed.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said Friday in a news release that 24-year-old Logan Long and 19-year-old Damarcus Dixon were being taken to Central Prison in Raleigh after a court appearance when they escaped through the van’s back door.

Although the two men were shackled and handcuffed, authorities don’t know how they got the door open. The sheriff’s office said the other prisoners in the van didn’t try to escape.

Long and Dixon are charged with felony escape and are being held under $1 million bond apiece.

Long is a habitual felon. Dixon was convicted of robbery with a dangerous weapon in September.
