FLINT, Mich. (AP) - A former Grand Blanc Township teacher and Boy Scout leader has been found guilty in the stabbing death of his wife.

The Flint Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1MCSSOQ ) a Genesee County jury convicted Andrew Farley Jr. Friday of second-degree murder. He was charged with open murder in the Oct. 26, 2014, slaying of Tiffany Caine-Smith Farley.

The 44-year-old defendant was arrested after officers discovered his wife dead with multiple stab wounds at the couple’s home. The initial police response was delayed because of a gas leak, which investigators believe was intentional.

Prosecuting attorney Janet McLaren says it was a “cold-blooded plan of a man” angry about an affair. Defense attorney Ken Karasick says Farley was constantly belittled by the victim, and “there were no winners.”

Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 14.
