STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. (AP) - Faurecia Automotive Seating plans to expand its presence in suburban Detroit and add 90 jobs.

The announcement about the global automotive seating manufacturer’s Sterling Heights facility came Friday from the Michigan Economic Development Corp.

Faurecia plans to purchase new equipment and improve its loading dock area. The project is expected to generate more than $8 million in capital investment.

The state says the project is getting a $350,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant. The city of Sterling Heights also has offered support to the project in the form of marketing and/or job promotional assistance.
