NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. (AP) - Police have been searching for a gunman after another man was fatally shot in a convenience store parking lot in western Pennsylvania.

The shooting happened about 1 a.m. Friday near the BP Fueland store in New Kensington. That’s about 20 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.

Police say 24-year-old Anthony Ritchie, of Vandergrift, was found lying in the parking lot of the store, which had closed about two hours earlier. Officers found Ritchie after hearing four or five gunshots.

Ritchie was rushed to Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights where he was pronounced dead shortly before 1:30 a.m.

Investigators are hoping surveillance video from nearby businesses will provide clues to the suspect’s identity.

An autopsy was scheduled Friday.
