BARRE, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Foodbank is getting some fundraising help from the Vermont hip hop band Lynguistic Civilians.

The band is touring New England to promote a new album. It’s using online crowd funding to promote the album, and says 20 percent of proceeds from that effort will go to the Foodbank.

In addition, band members have pledged 20 percent of album sales revenue to the Foodbank, and is holding raffles at shows with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Foodbank.

Aside from all that, members of the band are donating some labor. They’re working at the Foodbank on Friday to pack food for hungry Vermonters.
