GREENVILLE, Miss. (AP) - After months of looking for an airport director, the Greenville City Council this week ended its search.

The Delta Democrat Times reports (https://bit.ly/1NTVKKG ) council members Wednesday named Lee Owen, a sales consultant for the newspaper and former City Council member, as the Greenville Mid-Delta Airport’s new director.

Owen said applying for the position came out of the blue. Though he has always been interested in the airport, he hadn’t considered applying for the position until several of his friends urged him to.

Owen, who officially accepted the offer Wednesday, said he looks forward to his future with the Greenville Mid-Delta Airport and continuing the high level of customer service they provide.
