WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - A man has pleaded not guilty to misleading the investigation into a body discovered earlier this week in a burning car in Worcester.

Thomas Hogan pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Friday in the Worcester County District Court House.

Bail was set at $3,000 for the 40-year-old Worcester man. His next court date is Dec. 2.

It’s not clear how Hogan impeded the investigation and it could not be immediately determined if he has a lawyer.

Worcester police said earlier Friday they’re treating the death of the unidentified adult female body found Wednesday night as a homicide investigation.

Police and firefighters responding to the report of a car fire in the area of Swan Avenue discovered the body in the burning car.
