MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) - A Medford father is accused of using a picture of his toddler son to convince people to send him child pornography through a smartphone messaging application.

The Mail Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1Nx0MOS ) that a 47-year-old man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of felony methamphetamine possession and encouraging child sexual abuse charges. His case was moved to federal court Wednesday.

Prosecutors say the man used the app Kik Messenger to send and share images and videos of child exploitation. He is suspected of using a photo of his son in a stroller to convince others to send him more videos.

Homeland Security investigators issued summonses to Kik and later CenturyLink before identifying the man.

He is being held in the Jackson County jail without bail.
