ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Members of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s Common Core Task Force are fanning out across the state for a set of “listening sessions.”

Simultaneous public sessions are planned for Friday in five regions: New York City, Long Island, the Finger Lakes, Hudson Valley and Albany. The two-hour sessions start at 4 p.m.

Members of the public will have three minutes each to deliver testimony.

Cuomo has said the panel’s agenda is “a total reboot” of the Common Core system. He’s seeking a review of the higher learning standards themselves, the training of teachers and the tests used to measure student and teacher performance.

A group supporting the Common Core, High Achievement New York, sent a letter to the task force Friday urging members to improve, not dismantle, the standards.
