BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - The oyster harvest in the Hackberry Bay Public Oyster Seed Reservation in Jefferson and Lafourche parishes will close a half-hour after sunset on Monday.

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries says the area holds a limited oyster supply and harvest pressure since the season opened Oct. 19 has depleted the resource.

Officials, in a news release Thursday, said protecting the remaining oyster resources is in the best interest of oyster conservation in the area.
