GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - A Harrison County prosecutor says a 26-year-old Biloxi woman accused of trying to stab to death her 3-year-old son may have been planning to kill her husband so she could take their child.

Herman Cox tells The Sun Herald (https://bit.ly/1QiMB0D) Nomatter Gava-Hudson apparently planned to do harm Oct. 6 because she had hidden two knives in her vehicle before she went to meet with her estranged husband and child.

The woman faces a charge of attempted murder.

Gava-Hudson waived the right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday.

Cox says Gava-Hudson is a Biloxi resident and Zimbabwe native. She and her husband had met after she came to the U.S. on a visa.

She is held with no bond for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
