SITKA, Alaska (AP) - A Sitka man has been reunited with his dog after it went missing in the forest for nearly three weeks.

The Sitka Sentinel reports (https://bit.ly/1GO2zxV ) the yellow Labrador, Nova, was returned to Nathan Coble Monday.

Nova had disappeared while Coble and a friend were trying to navigate their way back to Silver Bay after a hunting trip.

Coble had enlisted the public’s help in a post on a Facebook page for lost pets. He also made a camp in the area where he left some of his clothes.

Another hunter, Kyle Kitka, came across the campsite Monday and spotted Nova. Kitka posted his find on Facebook, and arranged a meeting with Coble shortly after.

Coble says Nova returned about 20 pounds lighter but appeared to be in good shape.
