OPELOUSAS, La. (AP) - The man accused of stabbing a woman to death and killing a Sunset police officer in August, will appear in court Nov. 18.

The Daily World reports (https://bit.ly/1latASu) Harrison Lee Riley Jr. will appear before District Judge Jason Meche (mesh) for a preliminary examination, or a probable cause hearing.

Riley’s last court appearance was Sept. 23 regarding evidence disclosure and grand jury proceedings. During the September hearing, Meche heard several motions, including one by Riley’s attorney Christine Lehmann to preserve the crime scene for the defense.

Riley is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, five counts of attempted first-degree murder, obstruction of justice and two counts of aggravated criminal damage to property after allegedly driving a stolen vehicle through the front of a store occupied by two people.
