FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - A 33-year-old Fort Worth man has been accused of making a false report to police after authorities say he put a razor blade in his child’s Halloween treat and then blamed it on someone else.

According to a police report, Charles Weldon Pruitt was arrested Thursday evening on a warrant accusing him of making a false police report. He remained in Mansfield jail Friday morning on $750 bond. Jail records don’t list an attorney.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram (https://bit.ly/1S2Qqp6 ) reports that Pruitt told Fort Worth police on Halloween night that he’d found the razor blade in one of his child’s treats. He also gave officers the name of a person he suspected was behind it.

Police say Pruitt eventually admitted placing the razor blade into the store-bought treat himself.
