The University of North Carolina’s student newspaper The Daily Tar Heel gave a thumbs down to the Democratic Party for calling America “great” in its snarky response to Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan.

“The Democratic Party has been selling ‘America is Already Great’ merchandise on it’s website, based off Donald Trump’s ‘Make America Great Again’ hat,” the paper’s editors wrote in the “Quick Hits” section, Mediaite reported.

“This is problematic because it implies that over two centuries of systemic racism and imperialism are ‘great,’ ” the paper said. “Come on Dems, you’re supposedly liberal.”

In another “Quick Hit,” the paper calls Republican Gov. Pat McCrory “Gov. F–boy” for signing a bill limiting sanctuary cities, Mediaite reported.

“F– you, Gov. Pat McCrory, for signing HB 318. It is obviously racist and xenophobic — also it is just embarrassing,” the paper said. “Honestly, f– every person who supported it. Think we are being a little rude? It is probably because no one taught us manners in elementary school due to the massive budget cuts.”
