LARGO, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a woman was seriously injured when she rear-ended a Tampa Bay area school bus.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that 28-year-old Erica Ficca was driving her car behind a Pinellas County school bus Friday morning when the bus slowed for a railroad crossing. A crash report says the car failed to stop and hit the back of the bus.

Ficca was transported to a St. Petersburg hospital in serious condition. She was also cited for careless driving and not wearing a seat belt.

The bus was carrying two teenage students, along with the driver, but no injuries were reported.
