BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (AP) - Firefighters in Brattleboro, Vermont, have extinguished a 4-alarm fire that forced 45 people from their homes.

Brattleboro Fire Chief Mike Bucossi says the fire broke out around 6 a.m. Saturday in a 12-unit apartment building at 32 Valgar St.

He says the fire was brought under control about 8:30 a.m.

No one was injured, but the American Red Cross regional office reports that 45 people have been displaced. The Red Cross says it’s working to set up a shelter nearby.
