LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities have ruled the death of a 4-year-old boy who died in a stifling hot pickup truck in a Las Vegas home driveway an accident.

The Clark County coroner’s office on Saturday issued the cause of death as hyperthermia and classified it as accidental.

Las Vegas police and paramedics were called after Seth Franz was found in the vehicle Aug. 27.

The boy was taken to Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

According to police, the grandfather was running errands and he forgot the boy in the car with the windows rowed up.

The National Weather Service reported temperatures at 100 degrees in Las Vegas at that time.

No arrests or charges have been made in the case.
