DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Police have leveled a new charge of attempted murder against a man accused of shooting two teenagers outside an Ankeny fast-food restaurant last month.

The Des Moines Register reports (https://dmreg.co/1lc0TED ) that Ankeny police arrested 36-year-old Gabriel John Coco, of Des Moines, at the Ankeny police station Friday on the attempted murder charge.

Coco had previously been charged with two counts of willful injury in connection to the shooting and had been released from jail after paying a $20,000 bond. He was booked into the Polk County Jail again Friday.

Authorities say two 18-year-old men were arguing with Coco in the restaurant the night of Oct. 24 when they were shot. The wounded men are expected to survive.

An attorney for Coco could not be found in online court records.
