LAKE FOREST, Calif. (AP) - An exotic parrot stolen from a Southern California bird store has been found in Arizona.

The Orange County Register reports (https://bit.ly/1HzI7M7 ) sheriff’s investigators found the $1,300 Caique parrot and returned it to Omar’s Exotic Birds in Lake Forest Friday.

A man entered the store Wednesday afternoon, grabbed the bird and left in a car with an Arizona license plate driven by a blonde woman before employees could stop them.

Employees saw both suspects and another man in the store the previous week. They have not been identified.

Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock says the investigation is ongoing.

The store allows birds to roam outside their cages so that customers can interact with them, though a store manager says extra security measures are now being put in place.
