LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A fire started by inmates at the Pulaski County jail forced a partial evacuation of the facility.

Lt. Ted Haase says 150 to 160 inmates were taken from the building into a fenced area surrounding the jail after the fire was reported about 2:45 p.m. Saturday. He said the inmates were allowed back inside about 4 p.m.

Haase says there are no injuries and that damage to the jail is minimal and is limited to smoke damage.

Haase says inmates Marvin Algood and Antonio Jarrett are suspected of starting the fire. Haase said how the fire was started is under investigation.

Algood is jailed on murder charges while Jarrett is being held on burglary and theft charges.
