LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - The University of Louisville says former basketball player Kyle Kuric’s condition has worsened after undergoing brain surgery in Europe to remove a tumor.

Swelling in Kuric’s brain has increased due to excessive fluid. He underwent surgery on Thursday and again on Saturday, according to a university release.

He is on a ventilator and is sedated in a Barcelona, Spain hospital. Kuric plays for a Spanish professional team.

Kuric, a guard-forward, helped lead Louisville to the 2012 NCAA Final Four

Coach Rick Pitino called Kuric “one of the finest young men” he had the privilege to coach and asked for prayers ahead of Kuric’s surgery this week.
