HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - Police in Hot Springs say a man initially arrested for battery of his 3-month-old son is now being held for capital murder because the child died.

Cpl. Kirk Zaner says in a news release that 34-year-old James Antonio-Carlos Page was arrested Tuesday after a doctor at a Little Rock hospital notified police that the boy was in the emergency room with a neck injury, a broken collarbone, rib fractures and multiple bruises to the head and face.

Zaner says the child later died at the hospital and that Page is now being held for capital murder.

Page is being held in the Garland County jail on $1 million bond and court documents do not list an attorney for him.
