COMMACK, N.Y. (AP) - Police on Long Island say a motorcyclist is dead after he hit a minivan that was making a left turn.

The accident happened just before 7 a.m. Saturday in Commack.

Suffolk County police say Christopher Colella, of Kings Park, was driving a motorcycle southbound on Indian Head Road when he struck a northbound minivan making a left turn.

The 26-year-old Colella was pronounced dead at scene. The driver of the van, 57-year-old Marino Guillen, was treated at a hospital for minor injuries.

Guillen was ticketed for driving without a license. It wasn’t clear if he had a lawyer who could speak on his behalf.
