TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - A group in Ohio that works to find housing for homeless veterans is planning a series of fundraising events in close to 50 cities nationwide on Veterans Day.

Toledo-based Veterans Matter says events will be held Wednesday in cities that include Houston, Indianapolis, Detroit and Nashville, Tennessee. The organization is holding the events with the National Exchange Club, a service organization with more than 650 clubs.

Veterans Matter founder Ken Leslie tells The Blade (https://bit.ly/1NhIUmJ ) newspaper in Toledo that it’s a way to broaden the group’s reach.

The organization has helped 800 veterans get permanent housing across the U.S. Leslie says the goal is to find homes for 2,000 veterans.
